Ring Terminals

Uninsulated ring terminals, 18-22 AWG through 4 AWG, in a range of stud sizes. Bare barrel, crimp only — seal them yourself with SCL or ATUM adhesive lined heat shrink.

Why bare rather than pre-insulated. A pre-insulated terminal gives you no way to inspect the crimp, and the moulded sleeve is rarely a proper seal anyway. Crimping bare and finishing with SCL or ATUM lets you check the joint before you cover it, and gives you a real adhesive seal over both the barrel and the wire insulation. It's the difference between a terminal that survives ten years under a car and one that goes green.

Sizing. Match the terminal to both the wire gauge and the stud diameter. A terminal that's too large for the wire won't crimp properly no matter how good the tool is.
